as I opened my eyes
I thought I'd go out
to see the sun rise.
The world was still dark,
the air had a sting,
that lovely cool freshness
you'd expect from spring.
I didn't see a daffodil,
no tulips to be had,
nor crocuses or hyacinths
but I was not sad.
The humble little flowers,
the ones you hardly know,
were out blooming gaily
and put on quite a show.
Whole beds of color,
pink and yellow and white,
hugged every tree
and filled me with delight.
The time went by quickly
the sun began to shine,
I bid 'good day' to the flowers
and went to start mine.

The bread was not bread - it was a plum and peach tea cake - but it certainly was scrumptious :-)
I love pizza as well. I've yet to meet anyone who doesn't :-)
I didn't make any of these things, we stopped at a nice coffee-shop. I do make a lot of quiches at home but I've never tried making pizza :-)
What a lovely day out, Amalia! Do you know the poppy (klaproos) is the state flower of California? Your day looks very relaxing, and like you live more South:) Many thanks for sharing it with All Seasons. Your poem as always, fits very well with your photos - another lovely post for All Seasons - thank you and have an awesome week!
Beautiful photos. I really love your poem, because I live in a desert and most of those flowers don't grow here. But I do love what grows here, even those darn cacti sometimes. xoxo Su
The early morning hours are my favorite part of day, Amalia. I enjoyed your pictures today, especially the sunrise and the daisies. They remind me of my mom. That Pizza looks Yummy. And the picture of the red flower and water drops is sooooo pretty. : )

What an incredible group of pictures you shared! I'd never want to come inside... but the pizza looks amazing! I love your poem too! We are starting to see snowdrops poke their head out of the ground, very exciting to see the snow melt, and robins hunting for worms, a beautiful time of year :) Happy Spring to you!
