sitting on a tree,
a bird got to talking
with a busy bee.
The bee wanted to know:
tell me, my dear -
what is your favorite
time of the year?
The bird thought deeply
season by season,
wanting to impress
the bee with her reason.
She thought of the hope
and the promise of spring;
and the promise of spring;
of the lazy heat
that summer will bring.
Of autumn's lovely colors,
all smokey and gold;
and the cruel beauty
of the harsh winter's cold.
She thought of happy singing
when summer is bright,
when summer is bright,
and finding a cozy shelter
for the winter's night.
And finally she said
let me answer, dear:
my favorite must always be
the time that is here.

I love both spring and autumn. They are brief seasons and must hurry up to get things done.

I look forward to the fall as well. The spring is wonderful but it is followed by a long hot summer, all other seasons are quite short and mild by comparison around here.
Such stunning photos and a lovely poem! You've drawn me into the joy of spring!

Oh, dear friend. I love your photos so much, for you always capture the simple beauty and pleasures around you and show you are living in the moment. And I share in that moment with you. How I wish that together we could stroll through your beautiful countryside and then find a place to rest where you would then read your sweet poem. How lovely that would be. Hugs, Nancy

My favorite photo is of the horses...they are beautiful! :) I always enjoy your amazing poetry as well.
A delightful series of photos here. I enjoyed all of them. The poem was equally wonderful and so true.
Your poem is one of my favorites. ~smile~
Love flowers and plants in every kind of container.
What are the little "trees" just leafing out? (grapevines maybe?).
Your photos are beautiful, Amalia, and so is your poem. The carrots and tomatoes look so delicious,and the emerging grape vines speak of a full harvest in the fall. There is still snow on the ground where I live in Colorado and spring seems far away, but your photos have brought me a portion of it this evening and your poem is a reminder to enjoy the present as the best time.
Simple toys are the best! I hope this one is loved.
Wouldn't that be lovely? You'll come over, we will go on a nice walk, have a coffee or a picnic and talk for hours. Yes, a good plan.
Yes! That would be amazing! I hope you like rust. I've been told my greatest talent is sniffing out rust :-)
Those pictures are gorgeous! Send some sprng my way, please!
These are such pleasing and colorful images! I especially love those colored crates. I've never seen anything like those!
I love your gorgeous photos and the poem. Those pansies are on of my favorites of spring!
Thanks its always a pleasure to have you share at our Cooking and Crafting with J & J.
On, lovely indeed! Something to look forward to :-)
There are no words, Jan, except thank you.
A lovely message, Jody, thank you! Yes, these are grape vines. Soon to be sweet grapes or a nice bottle of wine :-)
Beautiful pictures of flowers and nature. Have a great weekend!
Glorious spring for sure. And glorious pansies!
Your poem is beautiful. Your ability to put great meaning in little sentences is amazing. Reading this poem was a pleasure.
Que belos versos, adorei!!!
Realmente a melhor estação é a da época! Temos que valorizar cada momento! A minha favorita é o Outono, mas não deixo de valorizar as outras.
Belíssimas fotos, parabéns!
Abraços e feliz dia!
Such a beautiful post, Amalia! I love the top photo best - geraniums are so lovely.

April showers my friend!
I agree with the bird!-o
Each season has it's own beauty.
I've had enough of Summer and I'm ready for the golden colours and tones of Autumn.
Each season is beautiful and I tend to live the moment whereever I am.
Oh Amalia your photographs today are very special.
My favourites are the geranium in the baby's bath and the old tubular seasaw - I can almost hear the children's squeals of delight as they rocked to and fro!
Wishing you a happy Spring weekend!
Shane
My goodness you get a lot of comments Amalia!! I thought I would never get to the bottom of the page ;)
I have to agree with that thoughtful little bird. I do so love living in a country with a wide range of changes in each of the four seasons. It gives each day something different to experience. Your photos are beautiful. You seem to find the best of the worn bits and pieces around you. Now that rocking metal boat is something that reminds me of my childhood. My dad made one very similar out of wood (and I only just got rid of it a couple of years ago). Have a wonderful weekend Amalia,
Wendy xox
Gorgeous spring photos! Our weekend is not going to be very spring-like---but looking forward to the season!
This post really resonated with people! I had a hard time finding a space to leave a comment ;-0 Love the pictures. We are still waiting for warm weather here in Texas.
