I was so excited!
My good friend Clover
was coming for a visit
with a proper sleepover.
My brother would be barred
(he is such a horrid beast!)
and certainly not invited
to our secret midnight feast.
Mother made us sandwiches
with butter and some ham,
a drink of fresh lemonade
and scones with lovely jam.
We set up our small party,
everything just right,
and settled in to wait
for the clock to chime midnight.
But, oh dear! What happened?
Without any warning,
we both fell sound asleep
and slumbered till morning.

I was reading your blog and you commented on mine. I love when friends meet like this. I love the little beds and always love your poems and stories. Thanks always for you care and concern. You've been such a sweet friend for so many years! Hugs Diane
I love that your dad made you these little beds and the story that went with is lovely to read. That little rug is too cute as is the bed coverings. Really, really, sweet.
Hello Amalia,
Love the cute Sleepover poem and beds are darling.
The embroidery items are pretty. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
Those little beds are so lovely and very special. The poem works with them so well too. Have a good rest of the week.
Best wishes
Ellie
Those little beds with the embroidered coverlets would be irresistible! No wonder the friends had a nap after their picnic. Lovely post, Amalia.
I love the sleepover poem, the cute beds and above all I love the beautiful coverletsππππ
So cute. My mother has a doll furniture( sofa, chairs and table) which were made by her grandfather. Precious!
Such cute little beds. It's been many years since I've had a sleepover. They always used to be so much fun.
Darling is right, Amalia!! They're almost too pretty to sleep in! Hahaha!
Oh my that is such a sweet bedroom suite, great beds and love the quilts on them too, pretty rug too. Sweet touch with the dog on one of them too!
This is so precious with the tiny beds, sweetly embroidered linens and even a tiny dog! It takes me back to childhood sleepovers trying to stay awake so late but falling asleep anyway. I love your imagination and creativity! Always such a joy! xx K
I love the fact that your father made you those beds, and the covers and pillows are beautifully embroidered. xx
The handmade beds are just darling, and your poem makes them feel even more special.
I love the cozy details--the coverings and that charming rug are simply adorable.
How lovely, I'd fall asleep too in those comfortable beds:)
Love the sweet little beds. Adorable!! I wish I could shrink and have a sleep over. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris

Aw that poem perfectly captures the excitement of sleepovers! I don't think my friends and I ever made it to midnight either...
There is that little dog again. He needs a name. ;-)
I love the beds. I love the bed coverings and pillows too.

Amalia, I would have loved all your miniature things to play with as a kid. These beds with the pillows are darling, and I like the rug that looks like a quilt. The little table and vase is cute too. I noticed that your dad made the beds, which is even more special.
It would be so nice to see all of these things in a dollhouse. : )
I wish you wonderful days in July.
What a sweet sleepover! The scones with jam are right up my alley!
Adorable...I just love those sweet little beds and their pretty linens!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

How funny, those little beds your father made. I think they’re really sweet. Good thing you kept them.
And the poem is exactly how it always went for us too: we wanted to stay up late, but we fell asleep anyway.
Ooh, I loved a proper sleepover when I was little, but there was never, ever any ham ;-) Such gorgeous little beds!
So cute!

So very cute! It reminds me of the sleepovers I had at my best friend's. We always made it way past midnight - with a lot of giggling - and were absolutely useless for a few days afterwards because we were so tired.
So adorable Amalia. Your are so creative. Love the sweet bed your dad built. Thanks for sharing at Love Your Creativity.
