Mr. Green and the Magic Bean

Mr. Green
was very keen
to keep everything clean
by any mean.

He was summoned by the queen
who was a bit mean
and always has been
because of her spleen.

Mr. Green
restored the sheen
to the mirror of the queen
so she could preen.

The mean queen
appreciated hygiene
and gave Mr. Green
a magic bean.

Mr. Green
stopped by the canteen
ate a sardine
and drank some caffeine.

He then left his machine
took the magic bean
and was last seen
leaving this crazy scene.

It is too early to use
this new lap blanket -
but it is always a good time
for my little nephew Noam.

Noam is precious, and his blanket is very handsome, even if it is a bit to warm for him to use it now :) Thanks for posting, Amalia! xx

Beautiful baby and blanket. Is his hair that red or is it the picture? Red hair pops up in our family often.

I'm sure baby Noam doesn't care about the weather. The colors in the blanket are great. I have so many baby grannies in the works right now.

I think I lost a comment for not being signed in. Mentioned how adorable your nephew is, how fun your rhyme, and how nice the afghan especially with that unexpected color row moving through it.

Babies always love to wriggle through a blanket don't they? Fingers and toes work themselves through those gaps in the crochet perfectly. What a handsome little boy! The Queen of Mean and Mr. Green ... what happens with the magic bean?!

I love crochet. I was repairing one of my old blankets yesterday that fits well over our 6' x 6'6" bed. It must be 40 years old now and one batch of wool is looking a bit run down :-(( I cannot though face making another one of that size!!
Have a great week Diane

You crack me up Amalia, you even got caffeine in your poem! Now, I can see a Mr. Bean book in the future for cousin Noam! He's a great subject, looking right into the camera:) He seems much joy to the family. Hope he doesn't live too far from you:) Green is a great color for a baby boy blanket:) Many thanks from All Seasons (a new season for you as an aunt?) Have a happy week!

The red in his head is contributed by my sister in law, we don't have any in our family :-)

I never used to like green much until recently and was surprised to see how many kinds of green I had in my yarn cupboard considering :-)

handmade by amalia said...

Thanks Vee. I had that colorful yarn left over from another project and the shop where I've bought it has closed down since so I couldn't restock. I wasn't sure if the little had left would make a statement but it did and taught me that a little can indeed go a long way :-)

The weather has changed so much in the past week that blanket time is firmly here. I'm taking the credit :-)

handmade by amalia said...

Yes, I did make the blanket. I'm trying to do a few projects that use the little bits and ends in my yarn stash, that has recently gotten very big indeed. I do love buying yarn.
