I love Scotland but I could never live there anymore than I could now live in the UK. Just too wet and cold for me, and last time I visited the midges eat me alive! Your photos though are stunning and I would live to visit again. Glad you had a great time. Take care and have a good day Diane
Oh, oh, oh! Is that a Highlander cow? She's so pretty with her shaggy coat. And the sheep, I love too. Do you know what the blue & white X is on the gate? It looks like a refreshing place to be. Thanks for sharing.
And your pictures are also a delight, Amalia. Every one of them is packed with interest and it is like a lovely tour of Scotland. Hard to choose, but I do love the old castle ruins, and that waterfall is spectacular. Thank you for sharing.
Hello, these are all beautiful scenes of Scotland. What a beautiful place to visit. I enjoyed all your photos, well done. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
Olá, maravilhosa selecção de lindas fotos a mostra parte da beleza da Escócia, as foto tem qualidade e beleza, gostei de as apreciar. Feliz fim de semana, AG
Believe it or not, that first photo looks like it was taken just a few miles from where I live in NE Oregon. I was so thrilled when we moved here and discovered the ranch where Highland cattle graze. Your photos are gorgeous, Amalia. You always choose pictures that give the beholder a true sense of the locale in all its many facets. I love your travel photos -- some of the best I've ever seen. Have a lovely weekend, my friend. Hugs.
I am so glad you shared this trip, I have always wanted to go to Scotland but we never managed to get up there when we were stationed in England. Looks like you saw alot, so many wonderful photos,so good to hear you had a wonderful time!
Lovely post. I do want to visit Scotland, because my family name is Scottish. Beautiful land and wonderfully photographed. Thanks for sharing this. Have a great weekend.
Your photos have a way of transporting me right to where you are. They give such a diverse idea of what Scotland is like and I appreciate that since I don't know that I will ever get there in person.
Oh yes!!! Your post is a delight. It is one of my dreams to visit Scotland one day. How gorgeous. All of it! Thanks for sharing - I smiled through the entire post :)
Oh, such amazing photos! We visited Scotland two years ago. Looks like you had much better weather than us, though it was incredibly beautiful all the same.
Amalia, I so enjoyed your photos. Just yesterday a friend who just returned from Scotland was telling me about her trip, but she had no photos then. She was in Edinburgh, the Highlands and Skye.
Good Afternoon Amalia! These gorgeous photos are just what I need for this hot Texas afternoon. You have surely captured such serenity and freshness that I feel so much cooler and like I took a little trip too! Happy Sunday, jemma
Amalia, I always bring my girls over here when you do a travel post. They really enjoy them. Scotland is one place they've never been. What delightful colored houses along the water. And the strawberry dessert and carrot cake looks amazing! The scenery in Scotland is beautiful, so green and lush. I'm glad you had a nice time there.
As always, you have captured your travels so well. I just LOVE when you share what you see and enjoy. Thank You and go travel more, I love when you share with us. xx oo Carla
Welcome back in Blog land! You're one of the few Dutchmen who travel lots throughout the year. It's addictive isn't it? Beautiful landscapes! Would love to visit the ruins! Oh, I think I choose the right sweater! Many thanks for giving us the views for Seasons of Scotland you love!
Such a beautiful post ... I have never been to Scotland, would like to visit one day! The green fields, sheep, mountains ... Looks like you've had an unforgettable trip, Amalia!
You certainly make it look inviting. A wonderful set and I would have guessed Ireland but there was a little something else going on. Fun perspective on the dock.
After seeing your amazing photos, I think I must go to Scotland. I love your animal photos, in particular, and the amazing sweaters. The buildings are fabulous. Very old world. Several really captivate me -- the boat on the shore, those pastries, the interior of that house and those marvelous colored houses. How cheerful! Thanks for this -- I loved it!
Magical, Amalia! Wonderful photos of a beautiful place! My ancestors came from Scotland - why did they want to leave? :) So glad that you were able to experience this and share it with us! xx Karen
I loved all your photos! Those wool sweaters were so charming and the castle so dreamy and the pastel houses by the shore so photogenic! I've visited Ireland but never Scotland--I'd love to see it one day!
Oh my God ,Looking at these Breath Taking views i fell stunned and speechless !!! How lucky of you to visit such glorious place and capturing it in such a remarkable way . thank you sooooooooooooo....................Much to share this phenomenal experience with us . may you be blessed with more peace and joy my friend! Lots of love and hugs
Oh my Amalia, such magical images. Loved the colours of the houses and fairisle jumpers. I can see you had a wonderful time and the cakes looked delicious! Thank you so much for sharing. Have a brilliant week with hugs from us :)
Oh, Amalia, your trip looks wonderful. I would love to visit Ireland. In fact, there are so many places I'd love to go! Your pictures are lovely. The sweaters hanging are so charming. And your signature poem is lovely.
How beautiful, Amalia! You've captured the wildness of the landscape, the storied history in the ruined castles, the handcrafts, the shops, and more. All delightful.
The views were spectacular, the lochs and rivers and sea were almost healing, but my very favorite part was the relaxed, friendly, trusting way most of the locals seemed to treat us. A real live-and-let-live atmosphere. It made me laugh because all around us were the remains of an extremely violent history, but they were just so laid back. I loved it.
The weather was perfect. I didn't want it too sunny, plenty of that here, but not too cold and windy either. It was great, I wish I was back there right now. This is one hot summer we're having.
There was a guard in one of the castles. She was standing at her post crocheting granny squares. Every once a while she would go inside, chance yarns and look around to see that everyone was behaving. Then she went back outside to crochet in peace. I loved her.
That little store was magic. It was like the tardis - bigger on the inside - a maze of little rooms packed with treasures. I could have stayed for hours.
So much beauty!! I love the different colored homes that you find. We don't see anything near that colorful around here. I hope you got to taste those strawberry desserts.... Yum!!
You have a way of capturing simple details that speak powerfully Amalia! I love the little glimpses into everyday life in Scotland. What beautiful images you have shared of the coastlines, the castle, the Highlander cow, and everything else! I've never been to Scotland, but truly feel as if I've been there with your powerful imagery :)
Gorgeous photos Amalia. The Western Highlands is where my ancestors were from, I always find myself drawn to the West Coast in a way I am not to the East though both are beautiful. Did you like both sides of the country or find one more appealing than the other? We are having a good summer this year. Hx
This is such a kind and lovely comment, thank you! I wish I was back there right now. We are having such a summer, hot and humid, not my kind of weather at all. Half the time I cannot be bothered to do anything excepts lists of all the thing I need/want to do :-)
Oh my gosh, Amalia -- you had me at the Scottish Highland cow! I love them so much I have a Pinterest board dedicated to them! And your other photos are wonderful as well(of course)! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm! xo Kathleen|Our Hopeful Home

Scotland is a beautiful country. Love the natural scenery. Have a beautiful weekend!
I have two photos on our wall - memories of Scotland, the lochs, the mountains. Two books of Fairisle patterns and I knitted my own pullover.
Oh my goodness Amalia, I was oohing and ahhing at each and every picture. I have been to Ireland, but hope to one day visit Scotland.
Your photos have a way of transporting me right to where you are. They give such a diverse idea of what Scotland is like and I appreciate that since I don't know that I will ever get there in person.

Stunning photos of bonnie Scotland, Amalia. LOVE those pretty painted terraces and those sweaters, how perfectly wonderful are they.

A wonderful series of fantastic photos! ♥
How beautiful, Amalia! You've captured the wildness of the landscape, the storied history in the ruined castles, the handcrafts, the shops, and more. All delightful.
I thought so too :-)
Those midges were the one thing I didn't enjoy. They were everywhere.
The blue and whit X is the Scottish flag, also known as also known as St Andrew's Cross. We saw it everywhere.
I've never seen such lovely sweaters. They were pure wool and WAY to hot for our climate so I couldn't buy any.
Thanks for coming along, dear Gracie.

Lavish praise indeed, my friend. Thank you!
One of the nicest places I've ever visited, I cannot recommend it enough. Perhaps not in winter though :-)
The weather was perfect. I didn't want it too sunny, plenty of that here, but not too cold and windy either. It was great, I wish I was back there right now. This is one hot summer we're having.
the Highlands and Skye - that is where I was and there were far fewer tourists and we'd expected.
How kind, Sheri. Scotland has a feel of old world England - Miss Marple territory - with majestic views. I love it.
Yes, I really should! Could you write a note for work? :-)
Old world sums it exactly. You are almost in Miss Marple territory but with grander views and no bodies. I loved it.
I am lucky. I know it.
Here is my Fairisle

I used cashmere which is soft and light and warm not hot.
You could use bamboo or cotton? Doesn't have to be wool.
So much beauty!! I love the different colored homes that you find. We don't see anything near that colorful around here.
I hope you got to taste those strawberry desserts.... Yum!!

I am definitely a west coast kind of gal. The wild sparse landscape speaks to me so.
