A Good Day's Work

Billy was sad
when he came through the door,
it's been raining all day
and school was a bore.

The bear came to him
and gave Billy a hug,
thinking you're never
too old to be snug.

The cars gave the train set
a bit of a chase,
knowing Billy would like
the thrill of a race.

The kite and the darts
and the old mandolin
got a card game going
and let Billy win.

They all played together
and after a while
the bear was quite sure
that he saw Billy smile.

"We hope you feel better!"
he said to the boy,
cause making kids happy
is what brings us toys joy.

Have been reading some (whenever I get the chance) to a little great-nephew. I would love to read him a collection of your poems illustrated with the wonderful creations. (Perhaps I should take these recommendations behind the scenes.) No one can do it like you!

Oh, sweet! This reminds me of the old story of the toys coming to life at night after the toy store was closed. It's nice to think that their desire is to bring joy to children. Restores my faith in toys!

You have such a talent, dear Amalia!

Such a cute bear and poem. As a teacher I hope my students don't go home every day saying school was a bore! But sometimes, it's boring for me, too!

The orange bear is adorable, Amalia! And as always, your poems are so cute:)
Don't worry, I probably was not as upset about the tree as it sounded. It just the discovery of such a common thing here in the forest. It took me by surprise that people here take these kinds of things in stride. Also,my discovery that it took a long time for the mess of the tree to be cleaned up. The adjustment of a city person to country side and mountain living, lol. Have a lovely December week!
