The Monkey and the Giraffe

A monkey asked a giraffe
to a game of basketball,
the giraffe had to a laugh -
"you've noticed I am tall?"

The monkey didn't care:
"I never miss a trick,
you may be tall and fair,
but I am very quick".

The giraffe again had to laugh:
"your arms are quite long
but you're just not tall enough
and you know that I'm not wrong".

The monkey was having fun:
"don't you worry, my dear,
after the game is done
I'll let you buy me a beer".

It looked as if the debate
could last the whole long day
but then the ball had enough
and gently rolled away.

Featured: two softie balls
made from yarn scraps
waiting for the arguments to end
and the games begin.

I love making things, but often don't know what to do with them afterwards. What do you do with the things you make, and what will you do with these softie balls (and what other things might you do with them if you weren't doing that thing!)? Many thanks!

Very cute, Amalia. I wonder if you compose the poem in your head while you're working on your creations, or if you sit down later and they come to you. Hugs.

Funny :-) really like your blog style!
And I love those cubes, especially the idea of the contrasting colour you sewed them together with.
I wonder how you stuffed them, is there a soft cube inside?

Such talent in rhyming and in knitting or crocheting. I am not sure which it is, since I am terrible at both.

Just leave the squabblers be - the ball had the right idea! Very cute softie blocks - I made something similar from squares of felted sweaters. They were easy for the little ones to hang onto. Have a wonderful day.
