Magic in the Air

In a cold land far away
all the birds are sad and gray,
you can hardly hear a song -
just a silence that feels wrong.

This goes on for many years
until the day a bird appears
with the sweetest singing voice
that makes all who hear rejoice.

As the bird begins to sing
winter ends and turns to spring,
colors seep in strong and bright
and the land is filled with light.

Years go on, the bird grows old
but her story has been told,
and more birds her music share
bringing magic to the air.

Featured: another needlework project
waiting to be finished.
My pile is giving me A LOOK.

Yes, I know "the look". I get it all the time in my little nest. Not always from crafty projects, though. Sometimes I get "the look" from my floors. LOL Your embroidery is adorable, Amalia. Fun applique, nice stitching. And another sweet poem. Ahhh, now I can face the day! :) Hugs, Nancy

What a lovely story for Spring! Thanks for sharing it and the start of another sweet embroidery illustration. I am working on graph paper an embroidery pattern similar to the one my mom did over fifty years ago, that I showed a few posts back. Yet another project started on the pile that is giving me A LOOK, too! xx

Love your spring time story, I will have to say I love when we have warm mornings and I can open the door and listening to the birds singing before the dogs start barking and lawn mowers get going, you can tell they enjoy spring as much as we do :)

Spring is in the air and maybe the little bird is telling you to go outside and enjoy it ... your unfinished projects will always wait for you. (Or at least I think so. I don't have any, because I never start any ;>). Unless you count that I keep meaning to clean up and my photo files before they break my computer with their weight.

So adorable, the words and your stitching.... can you do a poem for 'in a hot land far away'.... as this little bird has been melting in the heat of Asia this month! I am so looking forward to June in the UK!!!!
Good luck with your pile!
