is old man Winter,
muttering to himself
and feeling quite bitter:
"For all my hard work,
the quality weather I bring -
all I hear around me
is joy to welcome spring!
It makes me want to storm,
it makes me want to rain,
but after a long summer
see if they don't want me again!"

Ooo... wonderful images of waking nature! Nothing started sprouting here yet, but the weather has been getting steadily warmer so I believe we will witness the first signs of spring soon! Lovely photos you shared with us Amalia!
I'm loving all these photos. Cute poem and although I'm trying to feel sympathetic for old man winter I just can't manage it "Welcome Spring"....lol
beautiful images Amalia! :)
I for one am not sorry to see Mr Winter go!!
Such joy to see these beautiful pictures and to, in many cases, wonder what they are. Then such a fun poem written by Old Man Winter. He may be bitter, but that bitter stuff is terribly catchy. He's very happily entrenched here and not going anywhere yet. More's the pity... Thank you for the smiles!
Beautiful photos. Spring is definitely in the air here, I have been wandering around for the past few days without a coat.
Such a BEAUTIFUL out and about day! Thank you for sharing it. Perfect words from Old Man Winter. ;) blessings ~ tanna
Longing for springtime too! The first signs of new green are here, but it's still not sure if Mr Winter is gone :-)
PS: Like your pictures, beautiful!
You have a real eye:)
I for one love winter..and you know how harsh it can be..my only issue w/ it..is the added work for my husband:(
I love the way you capture art in the ordinary, Amalia. So many beautiful things to see in your post! We are a long way from spring, but we're enjoying and unheard of warm spell in our area. Enjoy your spring and send my regards to Old Man Winter.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!

Lol, love this poem and it's so true! Poor old man winter! I love him just the same as every season!
Tania
Definately looking forward to Spring, sorry Old Man Winter!! Some tasty looking treats :)
Have a great weekend!
I love your photos and the poem.
Hello Amalia
A lovely collection of photo's, and I always enjoy your poems.
Many thanks for brightening up my day.
All the best Jan
Lovely poem, as always
Have a nice weekend, Manon
Ooooh, poor old man Winter!
Thank you so much for your beautiful pictures. you makes me glad with them. To see a tree with flowers. Still waiting for it here ...
That last Line is absolutely true!
Lovely photos ... haha on that last line by Old Man Winter.
Perfect words. It is why I like living int he UK real changing seasons. Jo x
Fun poem...and so true! You have such an idea for beautiful photos, Amalia!
Old Man Winter is on his way out the door here, too. I won't miss him too much, as summer is rather pleasant and not too hot. Wonderful photos, Amalia. I would love to know what some of the foods are - everything looks so delicious. Enjoy this temperate season!
Poor Old Man Winter!! Love your photo's! I am always so intrigued at the foods you share, they look so delicious!
Your clever poem made me smile. I'm drooling over the yummy food images.
The nature photos are so encouraging, so full of promise. The rock looks like an open mouth to me. As always, I want to try all the foods you share with us. What is the pink log confection?
Yes it sure looks like Spring, and I love your poem and pictures. The cave looks interesting, and the cooking: Yum!
How beautiful, my friend! You always capture your adventures in beautiful, vivid images. Your spring-like day is wonderful. Is that Tabouleh in photo #7? xo
Lovely lovely photos.. and playful words..I am not ready to let him go! We are enjoying a glorious February storm here in the high country of Arizona. Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

Beautiful photos! We don't really see Old Man Winter here in CA. I miss him, but DH doesn't!
Lovely, lovely!! Thank you for lifting my spirits and sharing these beautiful photos!!
Beautiful! Definitely looks very Spring like. :)
Ha! I wish the Winter-man will go away soon and bring all its snow with him. Sorry for him. :-)
Your pictures are gorgeous and I wish I could have been walking in your steps...
Beautiful photos. I am anxiously awaiting for spring to arrive, but we still have snow on the ground. Your post makes me dream for spring!
Your cute poem says it all! I do long for cooler weather after a long hot summer. Your pictures are amazing! What are those flat cakes made of nuts??
Poor Ol' Man Winter! What terrible things were you saying about him?! We're still in his clutches here, but the pine tree's green boughs are waggling in the (shhhhh) spring breeze today! Another month and he'll be packing his backs for the southern hemisphere. Your photos are lovely ... you find beauty in all that you see. What amazing food delicacies you have! I'm curious about the flat nut "cakes"? and the pink rolls.
Wendy
No I will never miss old man Winter, no matter how hot it gets, I hope he is getting ready to pack his suitcase here in the UK. Lovely photos, number 6 looks like a huge reptile's mouth! :-)
This poem is sweet, Amalia. And I agree with old man Winter hehehe. Be brings us so much, and the much needed rain in California. Your pictures are splendid, and I see the white blossom trees are starting to come out. Those rolls look so Yummy.
I wanted to thank you for your comment on my "judging" post. You are a compassionate and wonderful lady. I hope many blessings come your way.
~Sheri
Such a sweet poem, Winters are my favorite, until Spring and so on. Beautiful pictures, the scenery, the plants and the food. Very nice post Amalia! you always know how to brighten a day.
Amalia, a lot of us us enjoying a respite from Ole Man Winter. Lovely photos and your poem is perfect! Have a great day. xo♥
Gorgeous photos, Amalia of spring having sprung, it seems, in your surroundings! I can't get over how much your landscape resembles Crete!! Just a few hours ago I was snapping shots of almond trees and buttercups - still no poppies here!
Your collection of culinary delights look very appetizing! Were they part of a picnic?
Have a lovely week!
xo
Poppy
Enjoyed your beautiful spring day out, with the bright blue sky and flowering trees!
Oh, what glorious photos! We've had springlike weather here, too, and I'm truly loving it.
Oh goodness! I can't pick a favourite image. Love the almond trees of course... and the kalaniot, but those nuts looks incredible and so beautifully displayed!
The little poem at the end made me laugh! I love all these beautiful spring flowers and am very curious about the dishes of food you are showing! Thank you Amalia for sharing this first blogoversary with ALL SEASONS!
Beautiful, I love the photos of the nuts.
Carla
Beautiful pictures! It does look a lot like spring in your corner of the world!
Isn't this the best spring ever? I've never seen so many wild flowers. Well worth that crazy winter :-)
Well, we are almost neighbors after all. I think you get a much colder winter, though. We've had a pretty harsh winter, by our standards, are are rewarded by more flowers than ever :-)
We had a picnic, but not homemade. We stopped by a little food market and bought some things. They were all yummy.
The white blossom trees are almond tree, the official harbinger of spring around here.
The flat nut cakes are molded together with honey and spices and cut into slices like a cake. They are very good and the delight of dentists around the country.
The pink rolls are a coconut treat. I used to love them as a child but they are too sweet for me now. I still admire their wonderful pinkness, though.
Well spotted! It is indeed Tabouleh. I thought it was beautifully presented.
Beautiful colourful pictures.....lots of delicious food, wonderful places and a clever little poem too!

Gorgeous photos and such fun, fun words. Poor Old Man Winter, he does get a lashing doesn't he. Can't say I am in a hurry to see him, though I fear he will be spreading his frigid breath down here very soon. Love the crumbling building with the window.
Lovely photos, especially the old door. Like the poem too, its'sgoodtosay goodbye to Old Man Winter for a while:)
I love your photos, they are fantastic!
The food looks very tasty and the nature more alive.
Your poem made me laugh -- it does seem that people are seldom satisfied with the weather. Either too hot or too cold!
I liked the post, but I should never have come to visit just before lunch time -- the wonderful food photographs made me hungry!!
(risos) Tadinho do inverno! Ele é muito amado por mim, logo depois do Outono. Não sou fã de calor.
Adorei seus versos. Engraçados e leves.
Lindos registros fotográficos - belas flores, grãos... e que salada apetitosa!
Abraços e feliz dia.
I love your photos! I love your poem! Thanks Amalia:)
What beautiful photos! I don't care for winter so I live in a place that doesn't really have one. I love the warm weather! Most people love the change though! Hugs, Diane
I think that the change is what I like best :-)
As I write this I can hear the strong winds and rain outside - I for one am wishing spring on its way! Glorious photos - that delicious looking food is making me salivate! Have a wonderful week. xx
I am obsessed with all that lovely food! :)
Hi Amalia, it is so pretty there with the touches of spring! I love spring flowers and the food looks so good and healthy. Hope you have a nice end of the week and weekend.
Julie
Ah you are so talented. The images are beautiful and your thoughtful poem is perfection.
Happy Spring!
Hello, pretty blossoms. The food all looks delicious. I love the cute poem, bye-bye winter. Enjoy your day and the weekend ahead!
Your photos are spectacular...each one! Loving the poem at the end.
Mary Alice
Such a lovely (and absolutely true) poem! We never really had much winter this year and you're right, everyone will complain when the heat and humidity arrive! Thanks for stopping by - always great to hear from you :) Love all your photos!
True statement..."see if they don't want me again"! Adorable poem and BEAUTIFUL photos! And I am so glad it's almost lunchtime because that yummy food is making me hungry! Hugs!
A great post Amalia, so beautifully illustrated with photos of early Spring in Israel.
I love the change of seasons and welcome each of them.
Poor old man Winter is much maligned but he has his virtues too.
I love winter clothes, wearing warm scarves and boots!
The winter cold kills off the unwanted bugs in the garden and as the poet Shelley told us;
Oh wind, if Winter comes can Soring be far behind.
Your poem is up there with Shelley and Keats - what a gift you have Amalia!

Hi Amalia, what a wonderful post!! Your photos are amazing and I love your lovely poem. Thank you for stopping by and your sweet comment. Have a blessed weekend ahead. xo
Wonderful photos Amalia, I'm so envious of that sun you have been enjoying. The food in Israel looks AMAZING!
Oh my goodness Amalia, I don't know what is more beautiful...the scenery or the food! All of it looks amazing!! Love and hugs!!
Sorry I'm late to visit here, on vacation. So glad I didn't miss this post, your photos are amazing. I for one am so ready and seems we may have an early spring. I love winter but spring is my favorite.
Happy weekend........
Some BEAUTIFUL pictures (so lovely for the eye this snowy friday!) and a great post...
Always so nice visiting you and your blog!
Love from Titti
How pretty Amalia. Do you live in Israel? It is beautiful! Love the herbs on the step!
Amalia, I applaud Old Man Winter's words! While I cannot help appreciating Spring each time it approaches there is always July and August in the back of my mind....has everyone forgotten those 2 months? And how we all loved it when Autumn came? We're supposed to have a record breaking heat wave today in Nashville, grass is greening, bluebirds are checking out birdhouses. Still, I was thrilled to see that a cold front comes in tomorrow with low in the 20s. Yeah! Old Man Winter is not gone quite yet!
Fascinating photos and I could attack that beautiful salad with the chopped cucumbers on top with a fork right now!

You have captured the essence of Old Man Winter eloquently! He just doesn't want to leave, lol... Your images were simply delightful and although many of the food items I had no idea what they were, they certainly looked amazing and delicious! Your world is so different from mine, and I love the little peeks that you share. You have a way of capturing the heart of the moment you are in with the small details! Your little picnic looked wonderful! Spring is a ways off yet, we are to get more snow still. Perhaps by May spring will make its perky appearance :)
Lovely!! Really I miss the winter man, this summer has been awful (really) and Im a winter person, I wait by autumn!!
Hugs!
Yours pictures are always amazing and beautiful!!
Love the images and your poem is so very true! :) Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Beautiful photos, Amalia! I'm ready to see some flowers!!
Winter this year gets no complains from me as we had a fairly mild one. Yes, spring gets all the glory. Can't wait! Lovely photos :)
Love the poem and the photos, Amalia!
So wonderful fotos. We have still snow, but I hope spring will come soon.
Bye,
Christine
Tis so true Amalia, the push to welcome Spring. Although I must admit now I am living in a new hot climate in Thailand, my roots are in a cold European winter which weren't after all too bad... generally!! I will look forward to see what the changes of seasons bring for us, maybe we just go from hot and humid to hot and humid and wet!! Bring back your grumpy Mr Old Man Winter :) Great photos as always!
Beautiful! And now I'm really hungry too!
Great collection of photos
The very best of a beautiful spring-like day! :)
It's nice to read in the comments that the blossom is particularly lovely this year.
Love the blossom and hurrah for spring, it is starting to show its happy face here too

Beautiful photos, Amalia! And, of course, I like the food pictures! Are those three-sided pastries yeasted Oznei Haman?

This is an amazingly generous comment and quite made my day, Shane. Sitting here with a big smile on my face. Thank you!
I wish we could beam you over for the weekend, going out again. I don't know why they haven't invented the technology yet, it is a disgrace.
No, these are called Sambousak and are filled with hummus :-)
