Let Them Eat Cake

One last post about my London holiday.
I was having a morning coffee in the cafe in Russel Square
when I saw something fun - a book launch was being set up.
The book is called 'The Cake Shop in the Garden'
and the idea behind the display was a completely edible garden.

The launch itself was a few hours away so I couldn't stay
but they were happy to let me take some photos.
I think my favorite is the battenberg cake carpet.
Or the back wall completely made of cake slices.
Or the sprinkle covered funnel.
Or the cupcakes.

That's a whole lot of work. Very creative. It may be edible, but I have a feeling no one is eating it at the end of the day. :) Best wishes, Tammy

Wow, that is a creative way to launch a book isn't it!!! They should have had a team of bloggers there to promote it, that is the sort of thing that we bloggers love isn't it!! Glad for you that you got to see it and then share it with us!! xx

Can you believe that! I'm so glad you showed us the whole story behind the flowerpot pic from your previous post. What a creative idea, even the watering can and the thingamajig--that you poke in ground to plant bulbs, can't remember its name. Someone went to a lot of trouble but was very successful!

Oh my goodness Amalia - such wonderful imagination the bakers have! Even the watering can is decorated with sprinkles!

An amazing amount of work. They were there hours before to set the garden up and I can't imagine how long it took to bake everything.

handmade by amalia said...

It was a wonderful experience for me not just because it was pretty and fun. It was not only creative, it was very professionally done and great to see all the work behind the scenes.

handmade by amalia said...

If I could I would bake little rabbits and stars and flowers. All your creations would make lovely cakes.

handmade by amalia said...

OK, now you're breaking my heart, it never occurred to me that they'll be giving out samples :-)

handmade by amalia said...

They had two professional photographers and one of them was chatting to me the whole time. I was a bit intimidated, but I did have my new camera so it was all good :-)

handmade by amalia said...

I have it! It looks like a good summer book, I'll let you know.

handmade by amalia said...

Imagination and a strong back :-) Can you imagine the work they've put in?
