Dawn and Dusk

Dawn and dusk
are both a delight,
they grace us softly
with their glowing light.

They chase the dark,
help the sun rise,
only to watch
each day as it dies.

The very next day
they are at it again,
marking time and rhythm,
come shine or come rain.

Dawn and dusk,
both beautiful and sweet,
but also, a little lonely,
as they never ever meet.

  1. What a sweet poem that is. All your poems would make for a wonderful children's book. That embroidered piece is so cute too.

  25. What a lovely and thoughtful poem about the quiet beauty of the morning and evening light. It is such a bittersweet thought to imagine them as lonely figures that can never quite catch up to one another. Your spring felt-embroidered garden sounds like the perfect cozy setting to inspire such sweet reflections on the rhythm of the day!
