My hair is pure gold,
my heart true and good;
it's a disgrace that I'm locked
in a tower, in the wood.
I'm stuck in this place,
just me and the plait;
if a prince is coming
he is late for our date.
I've tried being patient
but it's too much to bear -
it takes me two hours
just to wash all that hair!

Dear Amalia
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look that grumpy and she can get out of the tower (with some help from you!) More very cute characters and I like the woodland backdrop too.
Best wishes
Ellie
Oh Amalia!
ReplyDeleteShe’s so sweet!
So glad she’s escaped from the tower!
I love her plait!
Great backdrop too!
I hope her “Prince Charming” turns up!
Hugs,
Barbara xx

ReplyDeleteAnother cute poem, the Rapunzel doll is adorable.
Take care, have a great new week!
"Just me and the plait"
ReplyDelete😁
Adorable poem!
Lovely doll and poem. Looks like she's a modern day Rapunzel - she didn't need a prince to rescue her at all! xx
ReplyDeleteHa,ha! Poor thing having to wash all that lovely hair! I hope the prince shows up soon!
ReplyDeleteAh, Rapunzel, the best story ever! Every little girl is fascinated by her long golden hair, and you have made her so beautifully. I love the tower too, with its climbing roses on the wall. Cheers to the cute bunny and bird in the woods. Your creativity is wonderful, I love it all. xx
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! When I saw the title in my feed, I had to click over and find out why Rapunzel was grumpy...well, other than the obvious. Adorable!! xo
ReplyDeleteoh! she is lovely! great idea with the tower :)

ReplyDeleteHugs,

This is precious! I am sure it cheered up your friend.
ReplyDeleteLovely setting and an adorable Rapunzel!
ReplyDeleteBonito trabajo, en el comienzo del año. Espero que durante el transcurso de él, volvamos a la normalidad, que nos impidió tener en el año anterior.
ReplyDeleteBesos
Your poems are so charming! You should write a children's book with your poems and your stitched creations!
ReplyDeleteYour little Rapunzel doll is as clever as you...she managed to escape the tower. 😊
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful, so clever.xxx
ReplyDeleteYour poem is so precious, sweet, and cute highlighting certain aspects of this fairy tale (your take is a modern view of what Rapunzel would do, instead of waiting for someone to rescue her, haha) Thank you for sharing your creation with All Seasons! Have an inspiring week, Jesh
ReplyDeleteI hope he turns up soon! And please tell Rapunzel, if it's an consolation, it takes me 2 hours to dry my hair ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove this! Gave me a chuckle and a smile today. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely. I enjoyed your poem my dear friend.
ReplyDeleteLove, Carla
I absolutely love your sewn creations and poems, but this post knocked it out of the park! I so identify with Rapunzel, it does take two hours for me to wash and dry my hair, then blow dry and straighten. And sadly for me, with the Covid and restrictions, my blonde hair has grown into a sad brown shade. Egad!
ReplyDeleteHopefully soon we will be back to normal and I hope Rapunzel stays beautiful!

Sounds like lockdown to me! Love the poem, everything!
ReplyDeletePoor Rapunzel being trapped in the tower, perhaps she will escape to join her friends in the wood:)
ReplyDeletevery creative with the forest and the castle, love her long hair hanging out the window. I understand one can get quite grumpy being stuck in ones castle :)
ReplyDeleteReally cute and creative! Great poem, too. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHer golden locks are lovely and I think any prince would be lucky to find her! Amelia, love the sweet poem and Rapunzel is darling!

ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Stay safe my friend.
ReplyDeleteHa! I like it.
ReplyDelete...a twist on a classic.
ReplyDeleteShe may be grumpy, but she certainly is resourceful. Great escape, Rapunzel! Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ's.
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I always thought Rapunzel had such a raw deal, and can you even imagine how painful it would be to have someone climb up your hair!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your little friend got out!!

ReplyDeleteOh, Rapunzel I feel your pain. Princes, they just don't get what it takes for a girl to get ready for a date. Sweet poem, sweet and whimsical sketchings in the background...AND...well Rapunzel is a doll. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet princess, Amalia!
ReplyDeleteI really understand her patient because it takes 15 minutes to dry my hair!
