The potholder is so cute, I'd only want to display it. Love the red wildflowers in a brown and green background. The baklava -- I'd love to taste that one! I really should have a phone bag. My phone is forever lost in the bottom of my purse. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteMy husband had a partner at his firm who had a Greek grandmother, who made wonderful baklava. She shared a tin of it with us every Christmas. It was divine. The girl no longer works with hubby, and I have truly missed that baklava! Yours looks awesome and delicious!

What an adorable potholder; love the colours, and brown and red compliment each other so beautifully, I think. Are those poppies I see in your neck of the woods, in December?? Your honey drenched, nutty delight looks like what the Greeks call kataifi, (angel hair phyllo dough), but I see that some of your readers are calling it baklava, (sheets of phyllo dough for the Greeks). In any case, it looks scrumptious!

Brown is one of my neutrals - black and white can be too severe sometimes and brown can have a cosy warmth to it. I see that some of your brown things are comfort things like food and cushions. I love how you have chosen a colour theme for this post and it is a colour that doesn't always get the attention it deserves. Yes there are some icky browns but there are also some lovely ones, as there are in all colours. It's a matter of finding the right shade for the right job. Sometimes brown can be downright dirty and other times it is sweet and luscious like chocolate. An earthy colour, it is a good representation of life with its ups and downs. Wishing you everything good in life and a happy holiday season. Thank you for reading my blog through the year and I hope to see you in 2018. Cheers! xx

DeleteBrown was my son's favorite color for a time when he was little. I thought that was crazy but it is not a bad color at all, as you have shown us here. Love the potholder! I have never seen Baklava look quite like that!

That’s such a cute way to make a handle; I always seem to have lots of teeny strips of fabric left over and this is a great way to use them. I soooo need a phone bag ...... then I will be able to pull the phone out of my main bag easily!!

I love the color brown, tan, cream, and all variations of brown. I didn't think I was so much into brown until a friend once told me to throw in a splash of red for color in my living room. I just thought about it. lol
