A few days ago
I was told by mother
that I was getting
a little brother.
I didn't mind his
coming to stay,
I thought we'd have fun
and fight and play.
I'd give him a hug
if he was sad
and cheer him with tricks
on mom and dad.
I'd share my room,
it is big enough,
and tell him to never
touch my stuff.
But nice as I am
and hard as I try,
this brother does nothing
but eat and cry.
♡
Featuring: a new nephew
and the baby blanket I made for him
♡
Tomorrow and for the whole of next
I'll be in France.
I'll miss you all.

Thats a sweet tribute to the little guy. Lovely blanket!
ReplyDeleteHa-ha! Before long, they will be fighting and playing and hugging. (Hopefully more of the latter.) Lovely blanket. Enjoy your trip.

ReplyDeleteHi Aunt Amalia, What a little darling. Love your poem and congrats on the birth of the newest member in your family, your nephew. The blanket you made is gorgeous!! Have fun in France. Enjoy your vacation. Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet they both are! What a lovely gift to get! We have a similar photo of my two daughters and the new born looks so tiny for the first few weeks and the older sibling looks enormous. I love thinking back on that time when we did not know who our new born was... so exciting... Now she is soon twelve and has left most of childhood in the sense that there is a whole new calmness and maturity around her. Sad in a way but still so rewarding to see her grow up. Think about all those things that we know about her personality that we had no idea about when she was a tiny baby.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations they are just so precious! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling new addition to your family! Enjoy your travels!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to everyone - a little baby is most fun for the whole family. But sometimes puzzling for the little bit older brother or sister, because that's what babies do : eat and cry! Nice they have an aunt who spoils them with hand made things:):) All of it is cute to share with All Seasons - thanks a bunch!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your beautiful new nephew Amalia, and what a wonderful poem to celebrate!

Congratulations on becoming an Aunt again! The vivid colours you have chosen for the blanket are perfect for little boys - bright, cheerful and stimulating but also deep enough to not show up the wear and tear active little boys can inflict on things! It looks like they love it and it's a beaut reminder of their Aunt Amalia :-)
