Spring is here
all is in bloom,
and little doll Millie
is holding a broom.
She is giving the playroom
a good old clean,
going over and under
and in-between.
The grumpy bear says:
"Well, if you must,
but what is wrong
with a little dust?
Millie doesn't listen,
she is on a mission,
she polishes the floor,
fluffs up the cushion.
The bear tries again:
"You go a bit far,
we do like things
just as they are."
Millie says to the bear:
"You really are sweet,
now stop complaining
and move your feet."
"Open the window,
let in the air,
and enjoy the season
you silly old bear!"
♡
Featured: a new doll, Millicent,
who knows her own mind and speaks it too.

Love Millicent, can she come here and dust for me......... I could do with a Millicent! Love the poem

Millie has a romantic side as well. There is a Jane Austen novel in there for reading in the park.
DeleteLove Millicent and her cute little purse and shawl, too! Have a wonderful weekend, Amalia! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteA big smile comes across my face every time I visit you here. Thanks for the spring Sunshine!

ReplyDeleteSpring cleaning - how wonderful! I just opened my windows this morning and look forward to the gorgeous spring day ahead. I wish I had a Millie on a mission in my house! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable and her accessories are totally on point. A cross body bag? Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteShe is saving for glass slippers :-)

ReplyDeleteI am! And I'm behind schedule. Too many temptations...

ReplyDeleteMillie is so sweet! I love alle the different colours and prints you used. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteAnd your poem put a smile on my face :-)
Have a great day, Sigrid
Dear Milli,
ReplyDeleteI can relate to grumpy bear when it comes to dust, and do not feel that spring cleaning is a must. However, should you feel the need to journey to new land, then I'll be here waiting to lend you a hand. Please bring your broom and your polish and fluff; if we work together, then it won't be so tough.
My idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance. —Erma Bombeck
Have a peaceful Sunday!

DeleteSo lovely! Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteMiss Millie is darling, she really is all dolled up for the spring cleaning! We had a spring cleaning mission here a couple of weeks ago and Miss Millie would have been very welcomed :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way the house feels when the cleaning is done. But if there is one think I know about dirt - it always comes back. Big sigh.
DeleteMillie is too cute and someone is spring cleaning! Thanks for the smiles Amalia!
ReplyDeleteMiss Millie is very cute.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great to get some spring cleaning done - I have been giving daughters room a clean as she is coming home for Easter

Nawwwww...Millie is adorable Amalia. Love very much. Mimi xxx
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteYour Millie is so very sweet and her Spring-like outfit very chic. Every home should have a Millie, I should think. Her persistence in the face of such opposition is commendable. Your sweet poem, Amalia has put a little Spring into my day.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! It is true all is in bloom and the birds sing :)
ReplyDeletexoxo

Love the little patches on Millie! And as usual a darling poem! Have learned much of the Jewish feasts in the USA, so I don't know how much they celebrate Passover in Holland? Thank you much for sharing Millie with All Seasons and if you do celebrate, a happy Passover!
ReplyDeleteI've been Spring cleaning today but I didn't have Millie to help! I need to get in the sewing room and make something creative and fun! You always inspire me! Hugs, Diane

Another lovely message, Tamara! Thank you ♥
DeleteLoved your poem and the images it creates. I can see myself as her and my hubby as the bear.
ReplyDeleteMillie is adorable! Even though we just moved I tried to do our spring cleaning during the moving process. That way grumpy bear can be less grumpy for another year! :-) Love and hugs!

Millie has always dreamed of visiting Tokyo. I think she could be persuaded to come lend a hand :-)
DeleteOh, Millie is so sweet! I love her little purse, too :) Now that she has cleaned up her room, can I borrow her for a while? Sending hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteChag sameach! I've done my spring cleaning. Now is the time to have fun! My son also said he likes things just as they are and that didn't need to clean his room. He did ;-)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet new doll, Milli, I love you.
ReplyDeleteAnd the grumpy bear, too...
Now I open the windows and enjoy the sun and spring.
Lovely greetings,
Nicole
Awww Amalia, Millie is absolutely adorable and so is your poem!
ReplyDeleteMillie is such a sweet doll, and her tiny purse is also adorable. And wow she did Spring cleaning too. How sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteMillie inspires me, Amalia. She doesn't get upset and yell but she is persistent and knows that everyone is happier when the room is clean.
ReplyDeleteI love the little shawl over her shoulders, but it's not really a shawl. What is the old-fashioned word for a garment like that? It's kind of like what Marmee March wore, isn't it?
I looked it up, it could be either a stole or a pashmina. I like the idea of Millie fooling around with Jo or reading quietly with Beth.
DeleteMillie is wise! Time to let spring in and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMillicent is simply adorable! SO cute.
ReplyDeleteI really love your little doll Millie and her cute cloth! Wonderful spring poem!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you Dear Amalia and your cute Millie:)

Oh, Amalia, Millicent makes spring cleaning sound like a walk in the park! But she's right: a clean home is a beautiful home. I'm almost done mine, except for all the windows and shutters, and there's a lot of them!
ReplyDeleteLoved your poem and Millicent's pretty purse!
Happy weekend,
xo
Poppy
I still have the windows to look forward to as well :-( I keep telling myself to do the least favorable jobs first and be done with them but somehow I never do.
DeleteHello, Millie is busy with her spring cleaning. Cute doll and poem! Happy Friday! Enjoy your day! Happy Easter to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMillicent is adorable. Love the poem. Nothing worse than a "grumpy" bear, but it seems Millie knows how to handle his grumbling. Have a great day, my friend! xo

ReplyDeleteLove Millie! So glad I found your blog again, I have not blogged for awhile but glad to still see that you are!
ReplyDeleteI love your little scenarios in rhyme. I can just picture the action in my imagination. What do you do with all of your hand made goodies?

ReplyDeleteIt is true that without the help of cleaners we cannot expect to get a beautiful as well neat and clean house. So, you can visit deep cleaning services Ajax because from there you can get expert maids and cleaners. And they are always hungry to do all kinds of cleaning and other domestic works properly.
