A Grumpy Rapunzel

My hair is pure gold,
my heart true and good;
it's a disgrace that I'm locked
in a tower, in the wood.

I'm stuck in this place,
just me and the plait;
if a prince is coming
he is late for our date.

I've tried being patient
but it's too much to bear -
it takes me two hours
just to wash all that hair!

from scraps of felt sewed together and embroidered

  22. Your poems always me me smile - I remember when my hair was very long (in my teens) that it took about 8 hours to dry! But I love the line of a " heart true and good" Many thanks Amalia for sharing this with SEASONS - and hope to see you back next week!
    Also, your comments of the last week are very much appreciated! By the way I love this little "slak" you made (am drawing a blank for the English word now, lol) Have a great weekend!

  42. A darling, sensible poem about our beloved Rapunzel. How long WOULD it take to wash all that hair? Is it wool felt that you stitched? I've had fun embroidering with felted wool. (Which reminds me, I need to finish my wool butterflies project.) Love the smiling snail.
