Old Man Winter

It was a thundering night

raining hand and foot,

the whole house was rattling

trying to stay put.

A boy huddled in bed

was thinking: this is bad,

for winter to make such a racket

it must be really mad.

Old winter replied: my son

I know I've created a storm,

but I'm not at all angry -

I'm just trying to keep warm.
