Somewhere in the garden
there is a pretty nest,
there is a pretty nest,
a little bird is sleeping in,
enjoying this bit of rest.
enjoying this bit of rest.
And then a papa bird flies in
looking rather stern,
looking rather stern,
we've been singing since sunrise
get up and do your turn!
get up and do your turn!

Lovely work, Amalia. Are you going to show the finished piece? ♥
ReplyDeleteI will! I just need to finish it ;-)
DeleteI really like it. I'm guessing it's an original art piece. I like all the varieties of stitches you used. Do you always use the whole (6 strands) of floss when you embroider?
ReplyDeleteNo, I never use 6 stands. I usually work with 2 stands for a delicate stitch and occasionally 3 for cross-stitch.
DeleteSo cute !! Both the embroidery and the lines you wrote:)
ReplyDeleteThat pillow is going to be perfectly charming.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful, beautiful embroidery! :)

Hello Amalia :)
ReplyDeleteThat poem reminds me of my grandfather that used to wake my mom up each morning at 6:30 and tell her she was sleeping the day away :)
I don't blame anyone for keeping lovely treasures passed down from beloved relatives and the collars are lovely.
Your trip to Scotland... oh so lovely... it make me want to go there even more now! I love the pictures you took and the Highland cattle are so cute! We had peacocks where I grew up in California :)

The handwork is so sweet and the poem just right for it. It would be a nice nursery rhyme to teach a small child!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of embroidery, and as usual I love the rhyme! I thought of you when I was posting my rainbow mermaid and the rainbow cat recently and wondered what amazing rhyme you would have come up with for them!
