This is a very cute embroidery and sweet poem!
ReplyDeleteDear Amalia
ReplyDeleteYour embroidery is stunning. I agree about 'Persuasion' - it is my favourite Jane Austen book too. I like the 1995 BBC adaptation with Amanda Root as Anne too.
Have a good rest of the week.
Best wishes
Ellie
Yes! The 1995 adaptation is my favorite too! And Ciaran Hinds is the best Captain Wentworth ;-)

Deletehow lovely and cute look this bear! Love your embrodery!!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this piece..... the colors, the stitches, the adorableness of the flying bear and his lil fairy helper, and the childlikeness of the picture. It's as if a child drew it, and it came to life by your stitching magic.
ReplyDeleteA very very nice comment, thank you!

ReplyDeleteA stunning embroidery Amalia! Every single stitch is so neat!
ReplyDeleteYour work is so lovely, Amalia! So colorful and Happy! You need to write a book! I agree with others on that! ♥
ReplyDeleteHe is adorable! I think you should take up illustrating yourself. You're a true artist.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry I wasn't able to take up the baton of your very kind Liebster Award. March has been a truly mad month for me, and the craziness promises to continue into April. Thank you so much for thinking of me.
P.S. I too prefer Persuasion to any of Miss Austen's other excellent books. It's such a lovely, wistful, autumnal story with a happy summery ending. Definitely the best of them all! And though I never envisioned Capt. Wentworth looking anything like Ciaran Hinds, he did a wonderful job of interpreting the character. Sophie Thompson was outstanding as the whiny Mary. :)
When I love a book as much as I love Persuasion, I'm not usually inclined to like the adaptation. But the 1995 one is true to the spirit of the book, as I perceive it, understated and beautifully cast across the board. And I did like them choosing a character actor like Ciaran Hinds rather than a matinee idol in the form of Rupert Penry Jones.
DeleteNo worries about the Liebster - the point was to show my liking of your blog, so mission accomplished I hope. Where did the month of March disappear to, that is a question that's been puzzling me as well.
Amalia, what a beautiful piece of embroidery, featuring the little bear that could! Such sweetness in your sewing!
